This experience builds on more than two decades of work on experimental measurements, simulation of experiments and physical processes, statistical inference, and data analysis — from laboratory instrumentation to large experiments such as AMS and ATLAS.
Over time, this work has extended from extracting reliable information from measurements to modelling the systems that generate them, understanding their structure and dynamics, and supporting prediction and decisions.
Experimental measurements → Statistical inference → Complex-system modelling → Structured dynamics → Prediction & decision support
Current work continues this path through Graph Vector Field (GVF) methods for representing and analysing distributed dynamical systems. ASTRAEA provides a concrete application, investigating their use for global risk assessment and decision support in increasingly autonomous space traffic.
